GOD, TOTEM, FAITH ,BELIEF, BIBLE,- why do we have to believe any of this stuff... It's supernatural and fantasy...Not one dot of evidence to prove anything. I have always been interested in why as humans we have always worshipped a higher 'thing' be it the sun,totem pole,Gods, Sky,re-incarnation or whatever, with all the many diffeent religions, and they all think they are the correct one..oh come on,, it's plain to see it's a need in humans to cope with the finality of dying, we devise the "we go to heaven" concept I am not here to ridicule believers or creationist views but to open up the subject of why we believe so vehemently in something that no one has one dot of evidence for. The most often retort I get from believers is 'ok you prove he doesn't exist' How stupid is this remark- I am asked to prove something they so blindly believe in but which they can't prove themselves, and all that happens is they bleat out quotations from the bible..we live we die we rot....what's wrong with that. Superstition and control is how I see the church, After reading this if you are a believer I hope you don't feel anger or pity, afer all your guide book wouldn't condone that now would it. It s an interesting subject and people often start to act in many strange ways when the subject comes up, especially if they are a creationist believer, even to the point of killing another man or condoning goverments who do. I've been Passing thoughts on the best ten live gigs I've ever been to, I know this is very Nick Hornbyish, e-mail me the top ten bands you've seen live, mine are as follows:- Ten Years After - at Newcastle on Tyne Free - Sunderland Mecca The Fall - London Canned Heat - Stockton On Tees Led Zeppelin - Sunderland Pink Floyd - Knebworth Neil Young - Finsbury Park London The Kinks - Sunderland Alan Hull - South Shields Dr Feelgood - Kendall - lake district and many more.... I'm also compiling a list of unknown classics so if you think your collection is full of them please let me know, an example is Alan Hull's Pipedream - an amazing album. All types of Music and if possible list the year of release, label etc, if not just the artist and title will do. Does anyone out there have an album by Starry Eyed and Laughing..
